About Mon Sews
Mon Sews is a small Australian registered business based in Melbourne, Australia. All our products is made by me in my sewing room.
In 2016, we welcomed our first 2 guinea pigs and enjoyed sewing for them. We decided to sell some of our handmade online.
What does Mon Sews make?
We make small animals accessories. Mostly for guinea pigs, rabbits, rats and occasionally do sacks for wild life animals.

What makes them so useful?
Guinea pig accessories that are easy to change and clean but also at the same time colourful and stimulating to both humans and guinea pigs. You can save $$ and the environment by using reusable products because there will be less rubbish to throw away. Imagine not having to dusty wood shaving and its equivalent.
I’ve used mine for years now. I made nappy change liners for my own kids when they were babies(The oldest is 9 now). Because these are still going strong, I started using them for the guinea pigs. They are still just as absorbent.
I love using the cage liners because they are so easy to use and clean. All I do when it’s time to change is pick it up, bring it outside… flick off the debris and pop the liners in the washing machine ….. dryer or line dry them.

How do I order?
How long does it take?
It all depends whether you are ordering ready made or a custom order.
Ready made are products already finished and ready for post. These Items can be shipped within 3 working days of receipt of payment.
Custom orders may take between 5 days to 2 weeks depending on how many orders are on the waiting list and how complicated the order is. Mon sews make every product, so you are not getting factory-made.
This duration does not include shipping time.

Custom orders of cosy items carry a dispatch time of between 5-7 working days, liner orders can take up to 2 weeks dependant on how many orders I already have. An email will be sent when I start your order.
I require payment before starting a custom order. Every order is different and because these are mostly bulky and fluffy items, so postage can be unpredictable. Postage will be calculated once the order is ready to be shipped. I use Australian post and e-go courier. I will give a post quote and send out a invoice for the postage amount that we have agreed on. The order will be posted after payment is received.
Please note that shipping time is not included in this duration.

Mon sews accepts payment
- PayPal. You do not require a paypal account, you can still pay using a debit or credit card. It should be made within five business days. If payment is delayed for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me. I reserve the right to cancel the sale, if payment is not received and do not hear from you within five days.

Why was my Afterpay payment was declined
The Afterpay payment option is managed by Afterpay directly, so we have no control over the acceptance or rejection of payments.
Here are a few reasons why a payment can be declined with Afterpay:
- Your first payment amount must be available at the time of purchase – even if you have nothing to pay today
- Your Afterpay account has overdue payments owing
- The Afterpay risk management department has declined your payment

Order Change/Cancellation Requests
If you request to change or cancel your order after it has already been cut, and/or sewn, there will be a 15% cutting and handling fee to process the change/cancellation to your order.
How will my orders ship?
Ready made items will be shipped within 3 working days of receipt of payment. With the exception of Custom orders. If for some reason this can not be done, I will contact you and let you know. Every product is made by Mon sews. No factory-made.
Products are shipped in post satchels or carton and placed carefully in a zip lock bag to protect it.
I send most parcels with Australia Post becuase all pre-paid and flat rate post satchel items include tracking. The listed post costs include packing and post. I might use recycled boxes/packaging because I would love to save the environment where possible.
Orders received on Friday and over the weekend are processed and lodges on Monday. The post office here do not pick up parcels on Saturday or Sunday. Sendle have no pick up services on the weekend too.
If your package does not turn up within the expected time frame, please contact me because I will do my best to rectify the situation! However, please be aware that I don’t consider a parcel ‘lost’ in the post until it has been a full 30 days from the date of shipping, and I will not replace an item sooner than this.

Mon Sews is located in Melbourne, Victoria. Most parcels within Victoria arrived within 2 to 3 days. Some even the next day. Parcels to QLD and WA can take a week or more.

Where do they live?
Caesar and Ace live indoors in a 2 x 5 with a loft c&c cage.
How often do you clean up their cage
Once a week I do a big clean up.
Their cage is swept daily.
I place smaller pads on high traffic areas and change them when soiled because it keeps the cage clean longer. They love a clean cage. They show their appreciation by happy wheeks, pop corning and of course some redecorating.

Refunds and Exchanges
Only if the goods are faulty. Please ensure you choose the size and design carefully before purchasing, as there is no returns for change of mind or incorrect size, unless prior arrangements have been made through email. The product(s) must not be used or damaged by you or your pet. It must be returned in original condition, and I will refund the full price on receiving it back.
However – please be aware that I cannot accept returns for custom orders because these are unique items.
I cannot accept responsibility for repaying postage and handling charges.
Mon Sews strive to quality check every product before gets posted and cannot be held responsive of the safety of your pets. Please examine your items after every wash and dry cycle to check the integrity of the seams. If your item is damaged by your pet or by normal wear and tear. Please remove it from your pet’s dwelling and consider purchasing a new one.
